Warhammer Survivors Gets Release Date, Reveals Two New Heroes

If you're the type who loses hours clearing screens packed with enemies and particle effects, Warhammer Survivors just earned a spot on your calendar. Sony confirmed this week that the game lands on PS5 on November 10, and used the announcement to reveal two new playable characters.

The project comes from Auroch Digital, the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, working alongside poncle, the team behind the Vampire Survivors phenomenon. It's a pairing that makes sense on paper: take the addictive horde survival formula and drop it into the Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar universes, rendered in thick, chunky pixel art.

The first reveal is Morvenn Vahl, a former Celestian Superior now serving as High Abbess Sanctorum. She enters the fight wearing her ornate Paragon Warsuit and wields the Heavy Bolter Fidelis as her main weapon, spraying projectiles and occasionally triggering miracles that boost fire rate. Fully evolved, the weapon becomes the Purgator Mirabilis, adding a Paragon Missile Launcher into the mix.

The second addition is Lyssa Revenya, a thief and tomb raider from Lethis who runs with the Saviours of Cinderfall in the Age of Sigmar setting. Her weapon is a rope and grapnel that damages enemies at range while pulling survivors in close. Once evolved, she summons the Ghost of Rhea, a banshee that bursts into a damaging fog that lingers on the battlefield.

With these two added, the roster now sits above 40 playable champions split across both factions, each with its own starting weapon and stats. Stages vary wildly too, from the open ash plains of Aqshy to the cramped corridors of an abandoned Space Hulk, each one throwing a different enemy faction at you.

PS Plus members get a 10% discount on pre orders, which are already live on the PlayStation Store. No final price has been announced yet, and it's worth noting PS5 gets the game first: Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch (1 and 2) versions are confirmed but still without a release date.

What stands out here isn't just the license crossover, it's who is actually building the thing. Having poncle involved gives real confidence that the pacing and progression will land, because a lazy Vampire Survivors clone is easy to make and a genuinely addictive one is not. If Auroch Digital manages to balance the Warhammer fan service with progression that actually rewards you, this could end up being one of those games where you tell yourself one more run and lose the entire night.
