Ghost of Yōtei gets a Complete Edition with a story expansion and a free roguelike mode for existing owners

Ghost of Yōtei kicked off October with a bonus round. Sucker Punch released the game's Complete Edition for PS5 this Thursday (the 1st), bundling the base game, the co-op mode Legends, and two additions arriving straight through a patch: the narrative expansion Echoes of Sekigahara and the survival mode Most Wanted.

Echoes of Sekigahara cuts between the present timeline and flashbacks to Atsu's past, back when she still worked as a ronin on the mainland. The expansion introduces Nagato, a figure tied to the protagonist's history, and sends players into a previously unseen valley once held by a gang called the Vipers, complete with new heavy weapons, armor sets, and cosmetics.

Most Wanted is the studio's roguelike swing: every run starts from a bounty hunt, defeated enemies hand out perks, and as you progress you unlock new playable characters, each with their own signature weapon. Atsu fights with dual katanas, Oyuki wields a kusarigama, and Nagato brings a yari into the mix. It's basically Sucker Punch testing whether Ghost's combat can carry short, replayable runs, and from the sound of it, the answer was yes.

On price, anyone who doesn't already own the game pays $69.99 for the full Complete Edition. Existing owners can grab the upgrade for $14.99. Everyone also gets two free additions regardless of edition: a new screensaver mode called Beauty of Yōtei and extra accessibility options, including a high-contrast mode.

Fifteen bucks for a story expansion plus a whole replay mode is honestly hard to complain about. What stands out is the timing: Sucker Punch is giving Ghost of Yōtei another push right as GTA VI is about to swallow every conversation come November, a smart way to keep the game in people's feeds before the release flood drowns it out.
